Prince had been known to love and respect Bruce Springsteen a lot. And “The Boss” decided to reciprocate the mutual respect and pay tribute to the late singer, whose death shocked the whole world a few days ago, by opening the Brooklyn Show in New York and performing Purple Rain.
And in good spirits, a lot of people couldn’t help but note on social media that it was kind of funny in a jovial way, because when Prince’s Purple Rain went to #1 on the US Album Charts in 1984, the album it knocked off the top spot was Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA.
Many people captured the full performance using their smartphones and uploaded the videos to the Internet for everyone to see.
Here’s a clear recording that was captured from a good angle and with good audio.
